I arrived at freenode a couple of days ago and they're great! They would use none of your resources if you open it in a new browser window.

Regarding with mibbit, I thought that they have disabled access using mibbit?

well isint irc channels like irc chats because thats not good for servers but i do suggest a better chat like probly a phpchat instead of this shoutbox!
